To ensure your printer doesn't distort the scale when printing your maps, please set your printer preferences correctly. It is important to maintain the correct scale, eg to avoid rejection of planning permission.
Depending on the software you are using to print your maps, the printing options will be slightly different. However most printing options will be similar. For example, in your printing preferences:
• Set Page scaling/size to 'Actual size', or 'none'. (The default is usually 'fit to printer/paper margins'.)
• Set Orientation to 'Auto portrait/landscape'.
